Compact Course
Building Your Professional Network in Germany
Das Projekt "Frauenalia’s Hub" wird gefördert aus Mitteln der Senatsverwaltung für Arbeit, Soziales, Gleichstellung, Integration, Vielfalt und Antidiskriminierung, Abteilung Frauen und Gleichstellung.
Build connections that support your next career step
Building a professional network in a new country can feel challenging. You may be navigating a new professional culture, learning how to introduce yourself with confidence, or wondering how to turn a first conversation into a meaningful opportunity.
This two-part compact course gives you practical tools, guided practice and a supportive space to develop your networking skills in Germany — in a way that feels authentic, clear and aligned with your professional goals.
You do not need to be naturally outgoing to build a strong network. You need a strategy, confidence in what you bring, and opportunities to practise.
What you will gain
In this interactive workshop, you will learn how to:
Recognise the skills, experiences and perspectives you already bring to the table
Address self-doubt and communicate your value with greater confidence
Introduce yourself naturally and clearly in professional settings
Start conversations, ask meaningful questions and exchange contacts with ease
Prepare for networking events with a personal goal and a practical approach
Follow up after meeting someone and turn first contacts into longer-term professional relationships
Use LinkedIn more intentionally to stay visible and connected
Learn from real experiences, peer feedback and practical exercises
Between the two sessions, you will attend a networking event and put your new skills into practice. In the second session, you will reflect on what you experienced, work through challenges and refine your personal networking strategy.
Who is it for?
This course is for women who:
Are building or rebuilding their professional life in Germany
Want to expand their network in a purposeful and authentic way
Feel uncertain about networking, self-presentation or approaching new people
Want practical experience rather than theory alone
Are ready to take concrete steps towards new professional connections and opportunities
